We recently came across a compelling ABC report exploring how Australians are finding creative ways to secure affordable housing.
With property prices continuing to outpace wages, the report highlights two innovative approaches:
* Tiny-home living: Louise built a beautiful two-storey tiny home in the NSW Northern Rivers for approximately $80,000. Measuring just 7.2m by 2.5m, it allows her to own her home while renting the land beneath it.
* Shared housing: Kym, a 69-year-old pensioner, has joined five other pensioners searching for a large rental home they can share - reducing costs while creating companionship and security.
As housing affordability remains a major challenge, could tiny homes, co-living and other alternative models play a greater role in Australia’s future?
